D-Link, the world leader in providing network, security, data storage and IP surveillance solutions, launches the DIR-451 3G router in the Brazilian market.Main feature is the compatibility with all cell phone operators to create a wireless network of high performance, easy installation and enormous mobility.
According to D-Link Brazil’s product manager for telecommunications, Giovani Pacífico, D-Link pioneered the 3G router market by launching the DIR-450 router in 2008, the first device to allow Internet sharing Broadband via the cellular telephone signal.
With the DIR-451 there is no need to sign 3G service for each computer in the user’s environment, since a single access can be shared by several computers. The router is compatible with the vast majority of 3G modem models available in the market. D-Link makes available on its technical support site the complete list of compatible 3G adapters.
The new D-Link router has a USB port and a PCMCIA port for connecting the 3G modem from the cell phone operator.”When the modem or the 3G card is properly installed on the DIR-451 router, a number of users will have access to the Internet in any location, simply and swiftly,” explains the D-Link manager.
“Another differential of the router with 3G technology is the fact of providing the redundancy of Internet access, especially in environments where there is a need for full-time connection,” points out Pacific.
Sharing can be done through the wireless interface with data transfer speeds up to 108 Mbps (megabits per second) and also three other LAN ports for direct connection of computers through network cables.
To ensure complete network security, the DIR-451 supports both firewall and IPSec (IP Security) functionality, as well as compatibility with Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and WPA2 encryption standards.
The suggested price of the DIR-451 router is $ 599.00.
