Direct dialing service to major cities. According to, the telephone network is being expanded in rural areas. Some telephone calls to and from Cape Verde have to be switched by the long distance exchange. On the larger islands there are numerous Internet cafes where you can make cheap calls. In the hotels this is usually quite expensive.
