Duty free shopping

Overview

The following items can be imported into Cambodia duty-free: 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 200 g of tobacco (18+); 2 liters of alcoholic beverages; 350 ml perfume or eau de toilette. Medicines to be taken constantly in a quantity sufficient for the stay.

Phone

Autodial Long Distance Service. Many payphones are payphones. Phone cards are available at post offices, hotels and supermarkets in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Mobile phone

GSM 900 and 1800. Cellular carriers include Samart (GSM 900) (website: www.hello016-gsm.com) and Cambodia Shinawatra (GSM 1800) (website: www.camshin.com). The reception/transmission area is limited to Phnom Penh and other larger cities. Mobile phones can be rented. Roaming agreements exist with Germany and Switzerland, among others.

Internet

According to Abbreviationfinder.org, provider is Big Pond (Internet: www.bigpond.com.kh). Internet cafes are widespread in Phom Penh and Siem Reap.

Post office

Postal delivery is unreliable. Airmail to Europe takes about 5 days. Post offices in Phnom Penh are open Mon-Fri 7am-5pm.
