Mobile phone
900/1800 and 850/1900 GSM, 3G (2100) and 4G. Cellular service providers include CCT and Digicel BVI, among others. Roaming contracts exist. It is cheaper than roaming to rent mobile phones locally. Prepaid SIM cards are available from cell phone service providers’ points of sale.
Internet
The network coverage is good. However, the transfer rate is slow from time to time and stops completely from time to time. Free WiFi is available in some hotels and other lodgings, as well as in the library and in many restaurants and bars. There are also a few internet cafes in the British Virgin Islands.
Post office
Postal items to Europe take around 10 to 25 days to arrive. The British Virgin Islands’ largest post office is in Road Town, Tortola. Stamps are available in the shops where postcards can be bought. Hotel receptions accept letters for a tip of approximately US$1.
