Duty free shopping
The following items may be brought into the Bahamas duty-free: 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 450g of tobacco (persons aged 18 and over); 1 quart (approx. 1 l) of spirits (persons 18 and over); 1 quart (about 1 l) of wine (over 18s); other items up to a value of US$100 per trip. Note: Household items such as small electrical appliances (eg hand mixer) are subject to duty and are taxed at 45% of their value. Laptop computers are considered personal valuables and are therefore duty-free.
