The other big island of Mindanao in the southern part of the country. There is hardly any bridges between the islands of Samar and Leyte are only connected by a bridge across the strait between the two islands. Organize a bike race also has its limitations in the practice round is usually limited to Luzon.

The trail makes this year, the region north of Manila. The first phase runs between the two former US bases, Clark and Olongapo. The second step is the most luxurious: the large and well-maintained toll roads – the Philippines, where there is not much of it-between Olongapo and Cabanatuan. Then further north to exit as Bayombong. And finally the queen stage, the mountains in the summer capital of Baguio. The course can be expected that the decision will fall in the last stage, can be made where the differences.

The second stage has a similar course: now escaped a group of thirteen riders. The track is very different: there is a climb halfway, but then the road goes down to the target in Cabanatuan. The two Filipino ?? s in the leading group works well together, fleeing Galedo and win the stage. The peloton ending more than five minutes.
The third stage is back on normal roads, so the package runs short after the start stuck in a traffic jam. The race is neutralized and a little further back streak. The profile of the stage is the same stage two: about halfway up a climb, then the road goes down to the target in Bayombong. A small group fled the scene and won the sprint at the Indonesian rastra. The peloton closed within half a minute.
The fourth step is really to go into the mountains: starting at an altitude of 300 meters in Bayombong, arriving in Baguio at over 1500 meters. The peloton is pretty beaten in the Alps ?? ?? Philippine. The winner is the Laotian Ariya Phounsaveth. Gelado the second and wins the round. The Iranians prove they can climb well to finish with four men in the top ten and win the team classification. Our compatriot Maarten de Jonge is creditable sixth place in this mountain stage.
