The Ideal Backpack: Know about Backpacks

Why know about backpacks? One of the reasons is to avoid getting stolen. Another, to invest in the right equipment. And yet, to be aware of how much you can expect from the backpack chosen. The universe of backpackers may not be so great-speaking of the Brazilian market – but there are backpacks of all kinds, prices and applications. And it’s about this diversity that we’re going to talk about.

In the past, backpacks were heavy equipment, filled with metal structures and designed for a single purpose: carrying cargo. There was not so much choice. That is, backpacking was the same as a normal trip. Backpacks designed for women? No way! However, much has changed from 20, 30 years to here. The ease in traveling increased, the market grew, brands invested in technologies. The result was a wide variety, backpacks created for the most diverse public: urban backpacker, traveler cricket,  trekker , climber,  trail running, cyclist.

# The Ideal Backpack

The perfect backpack is the one we can buy, which is within our budget. One should not fail to have experiences by not owning a top-of-the-line backpack – or that long-awaited freighter. What’s more, the most expensive backpack will not always fit better in our body. Some makes/models can please, others do not. It’s a very personal choice.

Types of Backpacks

We already know that there are several types of knapsacks, right? So roughly – and according to the theme of this blog – we’ll sort the backpacks into three groups: attack backpack, trekking backpack and travel bag according to petsinclude.

Attack Backpack

Lightweight and versatile, the backpack attack is a partner that comes to any stop. Usually we find the cargo volume of 20 to 40 liters. But we know that size is not a document. This backpack, depending on the brand chosen, can be quite sophisticated.

Unlike day-to-day backpacks – school-type – the attack bag has several settings, compartments, pockets. They are more resistant and better worked. We can say that it is a mini war backpack. Hang on within your capacity volume.

Ideal for the day-to-day of a trip, the attack backpack is an essential equipment for long walks through the city. But it is also widely used in trekking, especially on mountain expeditions. It is essentially a backpack to attack at the top. And so it was called “attack pack”. And it is also perfect for short trails, climbing, biking and other activities.

Trekking Backpack

Some roads are demanding and do not settle for any backpacking. It may seem exaggerated, but it is not. If the crossing is arduous, you will not want a continuous discomfort, a nuisance impossible to be softened, a backpack that does not distribute the weight properly. A good freighter expands your experience. And so it has an obligation to be comfortable.

Trekking backpack, also known as freighter, is designed to withstand the stride, not to leave anyone in the hand during a crossing. The backpack usually is full of details, are thought millimetrically so that the traveler / trekker performs better – and comfort – during a walk.

The Ideal Litany

Many variables – many even – influence the choice of backpack size. They are the equipment that dictate the ideal cargo: tent size / weight, kitchen equipment, sleeping bag, type of food, clothes appropriate to the place of the trekking. So the following list is only a base and can vary from person to person. Taking into consideration the equipment that it has and also the climatic condition of the destination chosen.

Except for the first item, the relationship is based on trekking with camp. OK?

Hiking / Trekking for1 day | Backpack of 20 to 30 liters

Trekking for2 to 3 days | Backpack of 40 to 50 liters

Trekking from4 to 5 days | Backpack of 50 to 60 liters

Trekking for6 to 7 days | Backpack of 60 to 75 liters

Long Trekkings / Expeditions| Above 75  liters

Choosing The Trekking Backpack

The choice of trekking backpack always raises doubts. But do not despair. It’s normal. There are many questions, whether for liters, model, brand, price. So, if you are willing to buy a backpack-or semi-trailer-take into consideration the essential items that the equipment should have.

Sure there’s text there.

Wig

It is an indispensable item. Many do not know, but the belly has the function of apportioning the burden to the rest of the body. Or rather, distribute the weight to the hip, which is one of the strongest regions of our body. workare Between us, it’s no small thing. Good backpack has to have good tummy.Fact.

Height Adjuster

Avoid “joker” backpack. A freighter without this fit will certainly not be comfortable. The height adjustment system allows the backpack to fit perfectly to anybody’s body. And it makes all the difference.

Width And Height Adjuster

Few rucksacks have the system width of handles. It is not an essential item, but it helps in the perfect fit. Some brands have different widths for male and female models. The height adjustment of handles should also be noted.

Pectoral Tape

It is a simple but fundamental adjustment. The pectoral tape makes with the backpack do not change the center of gravity, leaving the next to the body, without losing balance.

Frame

It’s the skeleton. Good cargo has the responsibility of having a frame that guarantees the upright posture of the backpack.

Backrest

There are several types of backpacks and consequently there are also several designs of backrests. Good marks bring the breathable side system, which reduces perspiration and brings significant comfort. More than that, the backrest should be comfortable and sturdy.

Hydration Bag Compartment

Cargueira has to have a little corner reserved for the hydration bag. And I say: it makes all the difference when it comes to organizing all the stuff.

Handbags

I consider it a mandatory item. The more the merrier. Most backpacks also have side pockets for water bottle use. And some bumps also have pockets that end up being a plus.

Lateral compression tapes

They are a great help in going to battle. They have the function of compressing internal items. Causes the load to not move during trekking. And they are also used to transport thermal insulation, tarpaulin, walking stick.

Raincoat

Although a backpack is water resistant, it will hardly withstand a bump of rain. That’s why I consider the rain gear a must-have item in trekking backpacks. And more than that, it also protects from scratches. And even facilitates walking in places of dense vegetation-avoid twists.

Zipper

Incredibly, the zipper can be a great quality gauge for a backpack. Good attack and backpacks have the YKK brand zipper.

A good backpack has its value. Good and cheap cargo you will hardly find. Believe in one thing, you will have your worst days of life enacted if a backpack strap snaps during a crossing. So, my friend, invest well. On an urban trip you can risk a dubious carriage, but on trekking, no.

I own two freighters, the Deuter AirContact Pro 70 + 15 and the Thule Guidepost 75L.They are backpacks that I trust with closed eyes. And so I point them out.

Review – Thule Guidepost 75L

Review – Deuter AirContact Pro 70 + 15

I did not use all the brands of backpacks to tell which is good and bad. It would be unfair and reckless of me to make such a classification. But the goal of the post is to help you know more about the universe of backpacks. Right? Right!

So let’s go. I made a list and I ranked in 2 categories. First: more affordable brands. Second: more traditional and renowned brands. And a plus: good brands that are not sold in Brazil.

Travel bag

Travel backpacks follow a different path. They are usually less demanding about resistance, not committed to being a “war machine”. Generally they are simpler, do not possess as much richness in details as the trekking loads. It is probably a backpack that will be thrown on a hostel floor and will only be put to the test on a trip from home / airport / bus / hotel / hostel. And so the backpack does not have to be big. For example, if your backpack is 10, 15, 20 days you will probably have to find some way to wash your clothes. It is much better to increase the periodicity of going to the lavandeira than to carry more clothes, more weight. But it goes of the travel style of each one. There is no rule. I know people who like to take a world on their backs. Others who got along well with few things.

Choosing The Travel Backpack

What size backpack is right for your trip? If you are one of those who “less is more,” you should then consider buying a half-shell (50 liters). She will certainly handle the message. But if you like to travel more comfortably, taking more things, more clothes, more books, plus everything you can, 70/80 gallon freighters can solve your problem. It is also true to say that a trekking backpack can be perfectly used on a mochion trip.

It’s My First Backpack. And Now?

If you are a first-time sailor, I recommend backpacks with more values in mind. And the reason is simple: you do not know if you like to travel with the backpack. Avoid injury.Freights found in Decathlon, for example, are excellent for anyone who is taking the first steps in the backpacker world. And they can also be quietly used in the first trekkings. It’s a very good backpack.
